The Bookspot opened on September 7, 2004 in Maadi, Cairo. It was started by a unique couple of women who share a great love of books and had always dreamed of owning a bookstore: Sigrun, who is from Iceland and Mandy, who is from the United States.

The store started with selling only used books, but has grown and changed a lot throughout the years and now offers a large selection of both new and used books in English. 

You can order our books through our website and get them delivered anywhere in Egypt!

We import our own new books from both the UK and the US and can special order any title that is in print. Just email us to get information about availability and price.

In December 2021, a new chapter started when The Bookspot moved across the street from its original location to building 70 on Road 9 in Maadi, first floor.
