We love books so much we buy them back once you have read them!

The Bookspot aims to make books affordable and to keep books in circulation in Egypt. Because of this, we buy our own books back from our customers and also buy books customers already have.

Our store has a very good selection of good quality used books. We take pride in this. To ensure our stock lives up to the standards our customers have come to expect, we have the following policies in regards to buying books:

We evaluate each book based on condition, title, author, awards, bestseller, size, binding etc. and generally pay between LE1 - LE8 per book depending on these factors.

Books can be brought to the store in Maadi at anytime during opening hours (every day from 10 am to 9 pm).  

We take a look at all the books brought to us and evaluate each book individually according to our criteria. We reserve the right to accept or reject any book presented to us. The buying prices set by us are non-negotiable.

Below are guidelines as to what we buy and what we do not buy. 

What we buy:   

• Fiction in English
• Children's books in English 
• Most genres of non-fiction books in English, excluding very specialized textbooks such as medicine.
• Magazines in English not published in Egypt or the Middle East that are less than a year old 

What we do not buy:

• Old or outdated books
  
• Books in bad condition
  
• Books without the front or back cover
• Hardcover books without dust jackets
  
• Very specialized textbooks such as in medicine
  
• Magazines more than one year old
  
• Weekly news magazines
  
• Gossip magazines
  

Half-back policy:

Used books bought from us can be brought back to our location in Maadi for half of the buying price. The half-back can be used to buy more books at our location in Maadi or can be received as cash. Half-back does not apply to bargain books or new books bought from us. Half-back applies both to books bought at our store in Maadi and on the website.

We do not buy back books that have been damaged.
