About Us

The Bookspot opened on September 7, 2004 in Maadi, Cairo. It is owned by a very unique couple of women who share a great love of books and had always dreamed of owning a bookstore: Sigrun, who is from Iceland and Mandy, who is from the United States.

The store has grown a lot since it first opened and we currently have over 5,000 used books in stock to choose from as well as a selection of new books and we get new stuff in everyday.

And now you can get all those books and more from our website! We just launched the site so please be patient as we work out the kinks. We'd love to hear what you have to say about it so feel free to contact us.

The Bookspot is located at 71, Road 9 in Maadi and is open every day from 10 am - 9 pm (closed for Friday prayer).
